Al Capone
Born Alphonse Gabriel Capone, Italian bandit, Al Capone, was definitely the most notorious gangster of his time. He defied the law from an early age, getting expelled from school at age fourteen, and involving himself in crimes of government bribery and alcohol smuggling soon after his expulsion. It is safe to say that the group of Prohibition-era criminals he led was his true claim to fame. Al Capone spent the duration of his life in and out of prisons, including Alcatraz Penitentiary. However, his life was fairly short, ending with a heart attack when Capone was forty-eight.
